Jan Robertson
2008 President
Oregon Chapter

NAIOP Oregon is committed to advancing the mission of our membership in every way possible. That mission has been defined as to “Promote and maintain opportunities for commercial real estate development and to equip our members with knowledge and resources for success.” What does that mean? It means creating networking opportunities, hosting events that enhance our education about what is going on in our market, supporting the legislative agenda of our members, and in general creating a forum to advance commercial development activities.

On behalf of your 2008 National Association of Industrial and Office Properties (NAIOP) Oregon Chapter’s Board of Directors, we thank our membership for promoting our industry through their involvement in NAIOP and invite others in our industry to also join. We especially thank those in our industry who have stepped up to leadership roles in NAIOP as board members, officers and committee chairs. These folks donate their precious time on behalf of our entire industry and we thank them!

We hope that if you are not already a member you will consider joining in 2008, and once you have joined that you will involve yourself in one or more of our committees, attend some of our events and take advantage of our programs and networking activities throughout the year. See our calendar section to plan the dates now. Should you have any questions about the organization or activities, please do not hesitate to contact me, any of our board or officers, or Kelly Ross, our Executive Director.

Thank you for the privilege of serving as your chapter president, and I trust that NAIOP will contribute to your success in 2008!

NAIOP Mission

NAIOP is a national association with more than 11,000+ members and an extensive network of 49 chapters that represent the interests of developers and owners of industrial, office and related commercial real estate throughout North America. NAIOP provides communication, networking and business opportunities for all real estate related professionals; provides a forum for continuing education; and promotes effective public policy, through its grassroots network, to create, protect and enhance property values.

Members of the 49 NAIOP Chapters have great opportunities at the local level to enhance their business through educational programs, networking and government affairs
Members can also get involved at the national level — by attending conferences for continuing education, participating in National Forums for professional development and working to advance legislative initiatives like real estate taxation issues on Capitol Hill.

The forum for commercial real estate both locally and nationally, NAIOP promotes effective public policy through its grassroots network to create, protect and enhance property values. It offers education programs, research on trends and innovations, networking opportunities and strong legislative representation. Our members are the principal players who shape the industry
